Property Insurance: I would create a Hurricane Fund that would cover the first $100,000 to $200,000 in damage due to hurricanes. I would expand the coverage to all properties in Florida, not just high risk. The private carrier would be excess over the Hurricane Fund, thereby reducing their exposure, encouraging them to write the policies.

I would resolve the property insurance crisis by disbanding Citizens' Insurance and create a Hurricane Fund with the revenue from Citizens. I will open it up to all Floridia properties. I would address the affordable housing crisis by removing the caps on the Sedowski Fund, created to provide no/low interest loans for down payments to individuals that qualify. I would address the shortfall in education spending in Florida. I would look for the funds in the Bright Futures program, which is being given to children of affluent families.
